Sleeping...
Sad news. Van Wastell died a few days ago. I heard that there was a possibility of suicide, but I sincerely hope not. He was a great skater, and will be missed as shown from the top shot from 4Qconditioning. I wanted to post another picture from happier times, and found the second one on the DLX tribute page.
RIP Van, and don't worry. Greater things are still to come.

4Q Conditioning
This Tank was a joint Mullins Chaindrive/4Q deal. Mullins did the fab work and Max painted it. The tank ended up in Japan.
Heaven. What I wouldn't do for a shop like this.
I believe this bike belongs to Scott Pommier, the skate photographer. Great frame, and that ribbed exhaust tubing is really growing on me. I saw a Kutty Noteboom bike with the same stuff and it looked great.

Joey Castillo's Evo.
I haven't posted any evo shots on our blog, mainly 'cos I don't really like them. But I'm making an exception for this bike for two reasons; first, it was built by Powerplant Choppers and they build some great bikes and second, it belongs to Joey Castillo from Queens of the Stone Age. He's a tight drummer and a pretty hardcore skater too. He did a cool interview with Steve Olson in Juice Magazine a little while ago. Check it out.

Max Schaff shovelhead
I found this picture of a beautiful shovelhead that shows really well what I love about Max's bikes. There's nothing extraneous on there, no billet junk, no excess chrome, not too many "blacked-out" parts. Just super-clean lines, and a great idea of what a bike can be. Like it says on the Church of Choppers blog; "Don't Trend On Me."

Jim Thiebaud's ramp jam
Best tricks in my book; Markovitch's alley-oop air, Brauch's back-to-back blunts, Phil Shao's rafter drop, Cardiel's BS lein-to-tail revert.
